SLICK
At the end of August I was in Sheffield to photograph the National Youth Theatre's production of SLICK
I was in Sheffield for two days. There was a cast of 270 young actors and the show took place in the Park Hill Estate. The estate is in the process of being renovated, but much of it was empty, which made an excellent setting for this huge scale show.
This image is from the final act where the cast moved outside to the central area of the estate. Abseilers danced across the side of the building whilst the cast acted, sang and danced below.

The first two acts were set inside the buildings, which had been largely gutted by the builders. The audience were lead around the estate in smaller groups, with the story unfolding in front of them.
The show was excellent - brilliantly performed, epic in scale, and extremely ambitious. As a photographer it was fantastic to be able to shoot something so dramatic on such a large scale. These images were used for a wide range of reviews and publicity and appeared on the BBC website
During the day I took rehearsal photography of the show
The abseiling was particularly impressive to watch, and it was so impressive to see such a large space used in such an innovative way
