Romeo and Juliet

I had a lovely start to 2011 photographing English National Ballet's Romeo and Juliet.

Both dancers were fantastic to watch. Ballet photography is similar to theatre photography in that there is relatively low light and a lot of movement to record, so I used my Canon EF 85mm F1.2 and my EF 135 F2 lenses. The extra wide apertures enables me to shoot at much faster shutter speeds, allowing me to capture the dancers moving through the air.

Romeo and Juliet has been on tour and has received some fantastic reviews.
